To clean the mat, we recommend using Manduka Mat Renew or any non-solvent household cleaner with a damp cloth or sponge. It should be hung to dry in the sunshine and should not be put in a washing machine, as it may damage both the machine and the mat.

To store the mat, it should be rolled with the top side facing outwards to keep the corners flat when practicing. The surface texture improves with use, and the best way to break in the mat is to use it on a daily basis. Another option is to sprinkle coarse sea salt over the mat, scrub it down with a sponge, and air dry it in the sunshine.
